This is the real thing, not some post-war phantom; an antique embossed aluminum decorative plate measuring about 45 x 100 mm that once adorned Reichsarbeitsdienst or RAD shovel handle and commemorating someone's service in the RAD in 1935.

The plate is attached to a piece of wood about 1-¼ inches in diameter just over 6 inches long which must be about the size of the shovel handle it was once attached to. We bought it many years ago in Germany.
The inscription on the plate reads Ob arm ob reich ich mach Euch gleich (Whether poor or rich, I make you Equal) and Reichs Arbeits Dienst 1935 (Nazi State Labor Service 1935).

A historical relic of the Nazi Reichsarbeitsdienst and probably the Reichsautobahn as well. We have photographed this commemorative plate close-up and from several different angles so the condition is very obvious. Absolutely original to the Third Reich period in Germany.
