Below the prominent AV swastika logo the German text translates as “Heartfelt German Christmas Greetings and a New Year Filled with Joy!” |
The rare historic card was never mailed but probably saved as a keepsake. As you can see, the back is somewhat stained and has a family name on it in small letters. Nice original condition exactly as shown above and right.

The striking swastika logo of the AV is to the right of the Christmas candle. The German text translates as “Greetings for a German Christmas.” |
All AV or Bund material is rare, but any authentic Bund material related to the German-American Bund in Chicago (or Gau Mittelwest as it was officially known) is becoming extremely difficult to find. The Bund there was quite active over a period of years prior to World War II, but without explanation the internet has been virtually cleansed of references to it, pictures of their real estate and gatherings, etc.
