Ford Motor Company of Dearborn, Michigan USA opened their plants in Germany PRIOR to Adolf Hitler becoming the 23rd Chancellor of that country. The German Ford factories were a part of a chain of similar automobile and truck assembly lines in Japan, England and other countries.
Naturally, each plant had a house organ or newspaper, and in Germany the Ford factory newspaper was more of a magazine and was called FORD Werkzeitung. It was published monthly from 1937 on in cooperation with the Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF or German Labor Front) in Berlin by Ford-Werke in Köln (Cologne). Every heavily illustrated issue was 8-1/4 x 11-1/2 inches, from 12 to 24 pages and featured the latest news about the company, its products and its employees in Germany. Any copy of FORD Werkzeitung must be considered very rare.
