WHW Lot 1736 (above) - 11 original metal, porcelain and lace WHW collectibles. The delicate round 2-layer lace piece in the lower left corner from February 1934 measures just under 2 inches. It still has its original pin, but the other lace piece does not. The round Schlageter Memorial pin , the Reichsmutterdienst and Frau und Mutter Abzeichen are quite rare nowadays, and still have their original pinbacks as do the other pieces Condition exactly as shown. |

WHW Lot 6d (above) - the six original March 1940 Winterhilfswerk Glasabzeichen or glass badges measuring 1-1/4 inches in diameter. Each convex piece of glass had a relief of an animal impressed into the flat back side which was then either etched or sandblasted. The flat portion of the back was later lapped and polished. Each contains a different animal: a fish, a lizard, bee, ladybug, grasshopper or cricket. Each medallion has a small hole drilled at the top to accommodate a string. All of the glass pieces still have the original Third Reich string attached. Condition exactly as shown. |

WHW Lot 3c (above) - contains 11 original WHW pressed and embossed chipboard pieces with hand-painted front sides. They measure about 1-1/2 inches in height and all have their original Third Reich strings still attached, except for the 1-1/2 inch round piece on the right side of the bottom row. The 2-1/4 inch tall heavy cardstock piece on the right hand side of the picture is dated 8 August 1942 and has a portrait photo of German movie star Albert Matterstock on the back. WHW Lot GAU BERLIN - contains EIGHT of the very rare Kunststoffabzeichen from the 1943 series Berliner Bauten or Berlin Buildings. The buildings in Berlin on these rare 40 mm round pieces are Adolf Hitler's New Reichschancellery (4), the War Academy (2), the Victory Column (7), State Opera (8), the Olympic Stadium (3), Brandenburg Gate (1), Deutsche Wache (6), and (5) der Runder Platz (intersection Potsdamer Strasse and North-South Axis - destroyed during an Allied bombing raid in 1943). There were originally 10 items in this 1943 WHW series and the only two of the 10 original Gau Berlin Berliner Bauten that are missing from this selection are City Hall and OKW Soldier Hall. |
