This is a very good example of the 6 x 8-7/8 inches, 94 page, very heavily illustrated soft cover book Wem gehört die Zukunft? Sozialismus gegen Plutokratie (To Whom Does the Future Belong? Socialism or Plutocracy) by Harald Jahrl as published by Nibelungen Verlag of Berlin in 1940. The cover was designed by H. Stöckmann and this is a First Edition published by the famous SS Publishing House.
Wem gehört die Zukunft? starts with a foreword by Adolf Hitler in which he explain what is behind the German victories all over Europe - the German people, their character, their will to work, their eagerness to improve their Fatherland and their belief in the New Germany.
Virtually every page of this heavily illustrated book mirrors photographs of life in Nazi Germany with similar scenes of daily life in Great Britain, as well as important figures of German and British society. All pictures have rather cynical captions. Hermann Göring is shown opposite the chief of the RAF, uniformed parading members of the HJ and BdM are shown opposite British children and students, productive German farmers are compared with British farmers living in substandard conditions and British and Wehrmacht soldiers are also compared.
Harald Jahrl was active in the Reich Student Leadership and created a superb study in contrasts between two of the oldest European societies. A rare book and this example is in very good used condition.
