British slave transport

NSDAP Ortsgruppe St. Johannis Nuernberg

The Deutsche Informationsstelle or German Office of Information in Berlin was a Nazi propaganda institute specializing in translations of propaganda into various European languages. They published a series of extremely anti-British books in the same size and binding in 1940 called England ohne Maske (“England Unmasked” or “England without a Mask”).

We have acquired several different examples in very nice condition and offer them for sale on separate USMBOOKS web pages, links are at bottom of this web page. We offer a 15% discount for the purchase of two or more England ohne Maske books at any one time.
England als Sklavenhändler und Sklavenhalter, Ernst A. Olbert
The 5-1/4 x 8-1/8 inch, 56-page softcover Nazi book has statistics about the English, Portuguese, French and Dutch slave trade from the early 1700s onward, the port cities in England the slave ships departed from and their destinations in the Caribbean and the Americas, the number of slaves transported, forced labor, English nobility profiting from the slave trade, etc.

It makes a special point of mentioning that it was the British who brought the slave trade to the level of a real commercial business. The last chapter compares the British slave trades methods to the behavior and actions of British politicians and the upper-crust of English society in the late 1930s.

England als Sklavenhändler und Sklavenhalter (England as Slave Trader and Slave Owner) is book number 8 from the “England Unmasked” series, printed in 1940 by Erich Zander in Berlin. Author Ernst A. Olbert exposes the British slave trade through the centuries and the inhumane treatment of slaves. The “haves” exploiting and benefitting from the “have-nots”.
There are illustrations of the cramped interior of a slave ship, slaves in chains, slave sale poster, slaves working on plantations, etc.

England as Slave Trader
This original example of England als Sklavenhändler und Sklavenhalter bears the stamp of the Kassenleiter (Treasurer) of NSDAP Ortsgruppe St. Johannis on the front cover and title page. St. Johannis is a section of northwest downtown Nürnberg, the City of Nazi Party Days in Julius Streicher’s Gau Franken. A library inventory number was written in pencil on the front cover, and the book was “liberated” by an American working for the US Army in the building that was once the office of the NSDAP Ortsgruppe Kassenleiter.

This 81 year old very unflattering anti-British Nazi propaganda book is in superb, unread condition, no odor.
