Alba A. Braun & Co. of Augsburg was a German company that produced high-quality optical equipment like cameras, eye glasses and binoculars, owned by optician Albert Braun whose descendants still operate the company today.

This illustrated 4-panel Third Reich brochure advertises ALBA-Prismenglas, lightweight 8 x 25 prism binoculars perfect for travel to mountains and sea, sport and marching events. Six month layaway payment plans were available, all binoculars came with a carrying case and an 8 day inspection period.

This 145 x 205 mm (folds out to 205 x 288 mm or 8 x 11-3/8 inches) four-panel piece of advertising emphasizes the practicality of these binoculars during travel, and has a map of Germany, a suitcase and a railway ticket on the front panel.

Be sure to note above that the Reichsbahn ticket destination is Berchtesgaden where Adolf Hitler had his alpine home the Berghof on the Obersalzberg.

The back panel has testimonials dated 1936 and 1937 from Alba binocular owners from Breslau to Oliver, BC Canada. One owner refers to his binoculars as a “brilliant achievement of German manufacturing”.

A fine piece of Nazi era advertising in very nice condition, stored flat and away from light during the last 85+ years.
