EWIGES DEUTSCHLAND

This is a hardcover First Edition of Ewiges Deutschland (Eternal Germany) dated 1942 which is subtitled “A Book for the German Home”. It was published by the Winterhilfswerk des deutschen Volkes, the charity / welfare association of the NSV, the Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt or National Socialist People's Welfare organization of the Nazi Party.
It was the fourth yearly edition of Ewiges Deutschland with a foreword by Dr. Joseph Goebbels. In it he acknowledges the difficult year in Germany’s history that had passed - difficult battles for German soldiers on all fronts, as well as hard work for citizens on the home front in support of the war effort. All the blood, sweat and energy just to guarantee a future for Germany, with a heavy emphasis on duty!

This WHW (Winterhilfswerk or Winter Charity Campaign) publication was prepared as a Christmas present for WHW supporters and NSV members and is filled with patriotic poems and song lyrics, quotes by Hitler and others, portrayals of the war for the “Honor and Freedom of Our Fatherland”, and letters by German men and women that “mirror the deep soul of the German People”.
Published by Verlag Georg Westermann of Braunschweig, this original 1942 example of Ewiges Deutschland looks like it was never read. It is in superb condition and comes with its original dust jacket which has scotch taped corners. No odor.
The 5-¾ x 8-¼ inch, 352-page maroon linen hardcover book is illustrated with clear Holzschnitte or woodcuts by Ernst Dombrowski of Graz. It is fully indexed in the back.
