THE RARE APRIL 1939 HITLER 50th BIRTHDAY ISSUE OF

For sale on this USMBOOKS web page is the fine April 1939 issue of Ewiges Deutschland. It is all about Adolf Hitler and his 50th birthday with photo articles about Hitler returning to the area of Oberdonau where he grew up, Hitler and President von Hindenburg, Hitler on the campaign trail, Hitler at the Reichsparteitag with the Nazi Blood Flag, accomplishments such as the Reichsautobahn, the reunification of Austria and the Sudetenland with Nazi Germany (“Hitler the Liberator”), the New Reichschancellery in Berlin, new NSV ‘Mother Homes’, etc.
This fine 9 x 12 inch, heavily illustrated 20-page example of the April 1939 edition of Ewiges Deutschland has a portrait of Adolf Hitler by Franz Langhammer of Kassel on the front cover. The 84 year old magazine is complete and in very nice, little-used condition - no writing, no tape, no odor.
The patriotic, nationalistic heavily illustrated monthly magazine Ewiges Deutschland (Eternal Germany) was published by Hauptamtsleiter Erich Hilgenfeldt of the Reichsleitung der NSDAP, Hauptamt für Volkswohlfahrt in Berlin between April 1936 and May 1940.
Emphasis in these magazines was typically on WHW efforts (headed by Hilgenfeldt), child rearing, child welfare, education, Nazi leadership, home front activities that help our the war effort, art, etc. Most issues had a feature article with lots of beautiful black & white photos focused on one city or area in Großdeutschland (Greater Germany). Each issue always contained poems and quotations about Hitler or dedicated to Hitler.
