In Nazi Germany the Winterhilfswerk (Winter Charity Campaign or WHW) collection campaigns took place each winter and raised a great deal of money for charitable purposes. It was common practice for those who collected the contributions to give donors a small memento to show appreciation for their contribution, and by wearing the memento it was obvious the donor had contributed money.
Some WHW mementos are superb pieces of art, some printed booklets and others are very simple. Some include semiprecious stones and some are beautifully embroidered. All have been collected since the day they were made and are very much sought after today. Each lot is priced separately so be sure to order by lot number only. FREE POSTAGE IN THE USA if you buy three or more WHW lots, and please contact us about discounted prices for orders of five or more WHW lots.
