(DEFENSE WORK) MAGAZINE EIGHT ISSUES FROM 1938 AND 1939

This lot consists of EIGHT very hard-to-find issues of the big 8-3/4 x 12 inch well-illustrated Nazi DAF magazine Wehr-Arbeit or Defense Work, an education magazine of the Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF) Wehrmacht Section, Army Edition. The eight issues have a total of 176 pages and contain splendid artwork and rare photographs that illustrate articles of interest largely to management level personnel in Third Reich defense industries.

The articles cover the full range of subjects from the country of Grossdeutschland to the 50th birthday of Adolf Hitler, industrial capacity of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, Rumanian weapons production, a 1000 years of German culture, An Army Harder than Steel, Danzig, the Annaberg - Symbol of German Power, German Army saddle makers, the Sudetenland and even an article entitled "A Jew Took a Shot".

Because of its very limited distribution in the Third Reich, examples of Wehr-Arbeit are very difficult to find. This lot consists of the issues for December 1938, January 1939, February 1939, April 1939, June 1939, August 1939, September 1939 and November 1939 and they are in very good used condition.
