The postcard lots that follow are all related to the Reichsautobahn - the super highways of the Führer and the world’s first practical freeway system. All are difficult to find, some are unique. All are absolutely original to the Third Reich period - NONE ARE REPRODUCTIONS. Please order by lot number only.
Lot #RA1 - (left) an original 100 x 148 mm full-color printed postcard showing a disappearing Reichsautobahn behind a large black car. This card is from the series Die Straßen des Führers (The Roads of the Führer).
Lot #RA86 - (right) a very nice 105 x 148 mm full-color printed Postkarte showing the Wilhelm Abel painting of the construction of the freeway exit near Mannheim. This card is from the series Die Straßen Adolf Hitlers and was printed by the company Dr. C. Wolf & Sohn in Munich.
This Nazi era Reichsautobahn was mailed on 18 September 1937 to a family in Augsburg. Cancelation of the 6 Pfennig Hindenburg stamp is from Kempten (Allgau). It is in very good used condition.

Lot #RA22 - (left) a wonderful unused 105 x 147 mm full-color printed Postkarte showing the Franz Gerwin painting of a freeway bridge under construction which was on dislay at the 1941 Greater German Art Exhibition in Munich.
This Nazi era Reichsautobahn postcard was never mailed and is in good condition with a Feldpost stamp on the back.

Lot #RA90 - (left) a very nice 90 x 140 mm sepia toned photographic postcard showing the Reichsautobahnlager Kirchheim, the barracks housing the Autobahn workmen. This Nazi postcard was published by Verlag Dietz & Reichert in Bad Salzschlirf and has a cancelation dated 19 October 1938 over two Hindenburg postage stamps (see below).
In good used condition as shown above and right.

Lot #RA25 - (left) a rare unused 105 x 148 mm full-color printed postcard showing the large public dining room at the Autobahn rest stop on the Chiemsee between München and Salzburg.
This Reichsautobahn Ansichtskarte was produced by Fotoverlag Keetman & Stampfl, located in the small town of Prien on Chiem Lake. It was never mailed and has a blank back.
In like-new condition, 100% original to the Third Reich period.

Lot #RA23 - the Ernst Vollbehr painting of a freeway bridge under construction over the Main river near Frankfurt is shown on this unused 106 x 150 mm full-color printed postcard. It is from the series Die Straßen Adolf Hitlers and was printed by the company Dr. C. Wolf & Sohn in Munich.
Never mailed, blank back, nice condition, exactly as shown right.

Lot #RA50 - (left) a Nazi postcard produced to commemorate the completion of 1000 km of freeway in three years on 23 September 1936. It shows Hitler shoveling dirt with a ECKARDT'S JDEAL steel spade.
The 105 x 142 mm PC came with a pre-printed Deutsche Reichspost WHW postage stamp on it but was never mailed. Unused condition, blank back.

This original Third Reich color postcard was mailed from Berlin and has a Tag der Wehrmacht cancelation dated 19 March 1939.

Lot #RA11 - (left) an original full-color printed postcard with a view of the Reichsautobahn from above. This original Nazi postcard was produced to commemorate the 1st anniversary of the Nazi freeway system in 1934 and was published by the Gesellschaft Reichsautobahnen, the company managing the Nazi freeway system in Berlin headed by Dr. Ing. Fritz Todt. It was a subsidiary of the Deutsche Reichsbahn.
This original 105 x 147 mm Third Reich postcard has a pre-printed back (see photo right) and was never mailed. Very nice condition exactly as shown above and right, 82 years old.
