This is an outstanding World War II German unit history covering the campaign of the Wehrmacht’s 197th Infantry Division in the Soviet Union called Unsere Division im Osten (Our Division in the East). The 9-1/8 x 11-7/8 inch, 64 page very, very heavily illustrated soft cover book was published by Dienststelle Feldpostnummer 05261 Abteilung 1c.

Following portraits of Ritterkreuzträger Generalleutnant Meyer-Rabinger and Ritterkreuzträger Generalleutnant Boege the book covers the march of the division from the North Sea on 22 June 1941 to the Black Sea in December 1942.

The photographs of personnel, weapons, vehicles and unique uniforms and equipment of both the German and Russian forces are amazing.

Easily one of the best books of its type published by the German armed forces while World War II was still under way. Very good condition.
