This is a very rare original 1943 cardstock folio containing illustrated educational material for apprentices on their way to becoming automotive journeymen in Nazi Germany. Gesellenstücke im Kraftfahrzeughandwerk was assembled by Willi Gütte and Martin Pantke, and this is Mappe 4, the second expanded edition dated 1943, complete with all illustrated teaching sheets for the 18 projects.
Each of the 11-¾ x 8-¼ inch two-sided sheets has a photo, information and instructions about a specific metal part or tool and the technical drawing for it on the reverse side. The 18 lesson sheets include ball pin removers, ring nut wrenches, tappets, hacksaw frames, crankshafts, battery terminal clamps, a special punch, etc

The seldom-seen original introduction sheet (shown above) emphasizes the importance of the automotive trade and its need for skilled workers who bear an important responsibility for the motorization of Germany!
This beautifully illustrated automotive educational material was published by R. Herrosé’s Verlag, a publishing company for technical colleges and trade schools.

The rare 87 year old 11-7/8 x 8-1/2 inch tan cardstock folio is still complete and in very nice used condition, and has no offensive odor.
