The town of Meissen, Germany was not large during the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler, but it was very important for its many world famous porcelain industries such as Staatliche Porzellan Manufaktur (Meissen).
The rare 5-3/4 x 8-1/4 inch 44 page June 1941 Meissen phone book had a red, white and black cover similar to every other phone book in Nazi Germany.
Inside it listed the names of every individual, business and company with a telephone in Meissen and the surrounding hamlets, as well as advertising for many businesses.
The NSDAP or Nazi Party in Meissen had more phone numbers that any other institution, and they included several Ortsgruppe, the SA Standarte, the NSKK, RDB, DAF (at Horst Wessel Strasse 6), RKB, NSFK and the elements of Hitler Youth Bann 208. This book is stamped Offentliche Sprechstelle meaning that it belonged in a public phone booth.
