The Perlmooser Zementwerke AG was a huge Third Reich cement producer headquartered in Vienna, the second largest city of Adolf Hitler’s Großdeutschland. Founded in 1872, the company operated cement plants all over Austria before and after the Anschluß and is still in business today!
This is an original example of the rare December 1942 edition of their company newspaper called the Werkzeitschrift der Perlmooser Zementwerke AG. The 8-¼ x 11-¾ inch, 38-page heavily illustrated Werkzeitschrift has the main administration building on the corner of Schwarzenbergplatz in Vienna on the front cover, and the patriotic, “Help to build the Greater German Reich”. There are messages by company managers on the first page.
There is a recap of happenings at different company plants from April thru September 1942, management announcements from different plants (promotions, retirements, company anniversaries, etc.), announcements about company employees serving at the front who were promoted, received medals or who died while serving in the Wehrmacht, information about company trips, company sport events, charity collections for the WHW, and Christmas happenings. There are of course, plenty of pictures of men who worked for the company in uniforms of various kinds, and Hitler mustaches were popular among cement plant workers!
One of the features contains less than complimentary quotes about the English people from notable Englishmen (shown left).
This PZ Werkzeitschrift was published in agreement with the Press Division of the Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF) and Pg. (Nazi Party member) Ing. Edmund Czernilofsky was responsible for the content. This nearly 80 year old Nazi company newspaper is complete and in very nice condition, no writing, nothing cut out, no odor.
