This is a nice example of the extremely rare SS calendar published under the auspices of Reichsführer-SS and Chief of German Police Heinrich Himmler. The half inch thick 7 x 9-1/2 inch, 100 or so page calendar consists of individual pages bearing large captioned photographs of the SS or Nazi Police in action as well as people and events that were important to the SS and police.
There are four Führer quotations printed on heavy-weight tan stock so they could be taken out and framed or thumb-tacked to the wall as inspiration for others.
The backs of typical calendar pages are mostly printed with extremely important information for the Leadership of the SS and Police, some over a facsimile of the signature of Heinrich Himmler.
The pictures show everything from the Reichschancellery and Brandenburg Gate in downtown Berlin, , SS portraits, Oswald Pohl, Reinhard Heydrich, Karl Daluege, the Obersalzberg headquarters of the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (LSSAH) to the SS Jul-Leuchter, Wintersonnenwende, Concentration Camp guard, beautiful Aryan children, the entrance to the SS Kaserne on the Obersalzberg, the Ehrentempel and Feldherrnhalle in München, Reichsparteitag (Nazi Party Days), beautiful pure blooded German girls, the Reichsautobahn and the new KdF car (Volkswagen), various police formations, target practice, Hitler’s birth house in Braunau, SS fencing, and even a man examining pieces of SS Allach porcelain in a showroom.
This calendar came to us without its chipboard back cover and is complete through the 26th of December 1939. The front cover was also missing so the one shown above is a photocopy of an original in our archive. All the internal pages are original and in very good condition.
