This is a nice example of the 6-1/4 x 9-1/2 inch, 48 page heavily illustrated softcover book Der Westwall by Hauptmann of the OKH R.T. Kühne as published by J.F. Lehmanns Verlag of München-Berlin in 1939. With 50 drawings, maps and rare photographs this excellent book begins with descriptions of modern fortified cities like Fort Manteuffel at Metz and Festung Strassburg to explain the history of the Maginot Line and Germany’s Westwall defenses.
