This is a 1940 First Edition of Stukas! Erlebnis eines Fliegerkorps by Curt Strohmeyer published for General der Flieger Freiherr von Richthofen by Verlag Die Heimbücherei in Berlin. This 6 x 8-¾ inch hardcover Nazi aviation book comes with a rare original paper book ad wrap (shown directly above) with a quote by Luftwaffe General von Richthofen, who also wrote the introduction.

Facing the title page is a 1940 illustration of General der Flieger Freiherr von Richthofen by artist Carl Busse who also drew other striking illustrations of pilots and Luftwaffe Commanders for this book. The chapters cover the life of Stukamänner, the courageous pilots who flew the Sturzkampfflugzeug (Ju 87 dive bomber), other members of Jagdgeschwader with Stukas, battle stories and experiences, etc.

The photos show the Ju 87 in action, Stuka pilots and work and at rest, Nazi Aviation Minister Hermann Goering reading a map at a Polish airfield, battle damage caused by Stukas at Dunkirk, Stukas in the air and on the ground, etc.

There are 304 pages plus 16 pages of photos and four pages of advertising for other books printed and published by Verlag Die Heimbücherei. A 77 year old hardcover book in very nice condition, with its striking original color dust jacket and advertising wrapper.
