(translates as “Look It Up!”) booklets were published in Nazi Germany by the Bibliographisches Institut AG in Leipzig to provide Germans with a small but concise overview of social, economic, political, military, historical, press, language, traffic and other aspects of the infrastructure of foreign countries.

This is the softcover edition about the United States called Schlag Nach über Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika which was published in 1941. It has chapters about its size, population, form of government, press, religion, armed forces, education system, agriculture, industry, trade, traffic, history and presidents.

This 4-3/4 x 7-1/8 inch, 32-page edition of Schlag Nach! sold for 50 Reichspfennigs and is complete with its fold-out color map of the USA and Mexico measuring 9-1/8 x 12-1/2 inches. Very nice, little-used condition, no writing, no odor.
