Famous guests over the centuries include a great many high-ranking Nazis, Austro-Hungarian Kaiser Franz Joseph and his entourage, King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Rainier III of Monaco and Grace Kelly, President John F. Kennedy, Herbert von Karajan, Leonard Bernstein, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Plácido Domingo, and many others.
