The 7 x 9-½ inch, 266-page linen hardcover deutsche Jugendbuch (book for German youth) contains many adventure stories and historical essays by different authors. There are also chapters by Ingeborg Wessel about her brother, as well as some never before published pieces written by Horst Wessel before his death.

Neuer Geist - Neuer Zeit starts with a photo of Adolf Hitler and Reichsjugendführer Baldur von Schirach at the Reichsparteitag. As with the other photos in this book by Hedda Walther, Heinrich Hoffmann and Karl Heinz Sievert, they are printed on glossy paper. The book also has many fine illustrations by Kurt Krohne.

This is a very nice linen hardcover First Edition of Neuer Geist - Neuer Zeit (New Spirit - New Times) by Ingeborg Wessel, the sister of SA-Sturmführer Horst Wessel. Horst Wessel’s poem Die Fahne hoch became the Kampflied der Bewegung, the Nazi anthem, and was renamed Horst-Wessel-Lied after Wessel was murdered while fighting communists in Berlin in February 1930.

Published by the Nazi Party Publishing House Franz Eher Nachfolger in Munich in 1937, the last two pages have rare advertising for two other books about Horst Wessel written by his sister Inge and published by Zentralverlag der NSDAP Franz Eher Nachfolger.

Neuer Geist - Neuer Zeit was printed by Münchner Buchgewerbehaus M. Müller & Sohn, located on the Schellingstrasse in Munich next door to the headquarters of Heinrich Hoffmann, Hitler’s personal photographer. The owner of that printing house, Adolf Müller, had a close personal relationship with Hitler and was instrumental in the founding of the Munich chapter of the SA and his company printed the Völkischer Beobachter, Illustrierte Beobachter and Das Schwarze Korps newspaper of the SS as well as Mein Kampf.
