This is an excellent heavily illustrated original example of the 6-¾ x 9-1/2 inch, 200 page hardcover book Rasse und Seele (Race and Soul) by famous German phychologist and Berlin University Professor Ludwig Ferdinand Clauß, author of many other German racial theory books. It was published by Büchergild Gutenberg of Berlin in 1939.
This is one of the principal, fundamental books of the Third Reich era regarding their official concept of the relationship of race and its characteristics as determined by their own Nazi racial research experts. It has 118 carefully selected photographs of racially pure Aryans and non-Aryan men and women.
Chapters divide the races into the Nordic Race (well-rounded people with a drive to achieve something), opposite Jews and people from Asia, Mediterranean and Alpine countries, the Middle East, etc. Each chapter clearly describes the different behavior, approach and drive of a particular race including comparisons with the character of Aryan, Nordic people.
This 1939 hardcover edition of Rasse und Seele is in very good used condition, see photo left. It is from the 16th edition and has 118 photos. No odor.
