This is a very bold and striking picture of an SS flag bearer with a drooped Nazi flag in front of a smoking fire urn, by Hans Friedmann of Munich, which we bought in Europe many years ago. We don't know anything about the 9-3/8 x 11-3/4 inch (240 x 300 mm) picture, but it is mounted behind glass in a hand-carved antique wooden frame that measures about 13 x 17 inches.
The back of the card stock that the picture is mounted on is a piece of an original Le Soir newspaper announcing the death of Queen Astrid of Belgium in an automobile accident in Switzerland in August 1935.
The wooden frame is carved in a motif consisting of wooden branches with a spray of flowers and leaves at the top and grapes and a grape leaf at the bottom. All very well done and in excellent used condition.
