This is a typical World War II issued Nazi SS and Wehrmacht map case of the sort worn from the belts of German platoon leaders and other essential military leaders.
Constructed of distinctive pebble grain black leather in a size of about 2 x 7 x 10 inches, there are two adjustable leather straps on the back so that it can be hung from a standard Nazi combat belt (see photo above).
The front compartments for pencils, maps, ruler, folding knife, etc. are covered by a large leather flap with a buckle strap to hold it closed.
This is a good empty representative example. It is unmarked. The only real defect in the map case are the breaks in the centers of four of the seven pencil slots on the front of it. Perfect for a mannequin or display of German World War II field gear.
