Few Third Reich historians or collectors are familiar with the 32-page, 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 inch monthly genealogy magazine Familie, Sippe, Volk or Family, Clan, Nation which included a supplement called Allgemeines Suchblatt für Sippenforscher or General Announcement Paper for Genealogical Research.

The entire subject of this magazine was extremely important to the official Nazi agencies involved with matters of race and family and the maintenance of pure German blood, such as the Reichsstelle für Sippenforschung in Berlin, the Amt für Sippenforschung der NSDAP in Berlin, the Vereinigung der Berufssippenforscher in Berlin, the Volksbund der deutschen Sippenkundlichen Verein in Berlin and at least 20 more.

The magazine carried highly technical research results on family matters, questions from the police and advertising from people and agencies seeking information for Ahnenpässe and NSDAP Abstammungsnachweise as well as family genealogies.
