The well-researched text in this book is supplemented by hundreds of pictures of many different Mercedes models (from race cars to military vehicles) and their interiors, many of them never published before.
There are photos of Adolf Hitler, Hermann Göring, Rudolf Hess, Adolf Wagner, driver Emil Maurice, Jakob Werlin, General Sepp Dietrich, Joachim von Ribbentrop, driver Julius Schreck, Dr. Fritz Todt, driver Erich Kempka, Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler in Hermann Göring’s Mercedes 540K, Benito Mussolini and Count Ciano at the Goering estate Carinhall north of Berlin, Martin Bormann, Wilhelm Brückner, Dr. Joseph Goebbels, in or near ‘their’ Mercedes-Benz automobiles. The cars are pictured in Berlin, in Nürnberg, at President von Hindenburg’s estate in Neudeck, in Linz and Vienna, in Danzig, at Compiègne, while touring Paris, in front of Hitler’s Sonderzug Amerika during World War II, even the Mercedes Type 320 open tourer in which Reinhard Heydrich was attacked in Prague on 27 May 1942.
The 12-½ x 9-½ inch, 208-page hardcover book Mercedes-Benz Parade and Staff Cars of the Third Reich starts with a short history of Gottlieb Daimler, Carl Benz and Wilhelm Maybach, their inventions and early automobiles, many used by German royalty. It contains many photos of Hitler in his armored open Grosser Mercedes while triumphantly entering Vienna and Prague and while at his headquarters at Rastenburg.
The book also contains examples of early Mercedes-Benz advertising, as well as interesting details of what happened to many of the vehicles pictured after World War II.
Mercedes-Benz Parade and Staff Cars of the Third Reich was published by Combined Publishing in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania in 1999 and was beautifully printed in the USA on fine quality paper. This hardcover example comes with its original dust jacket and is complete and in very nice condition. It looks as if it may have been read once and has a tight spine and no odor of any kind.

Mercedes-Benz Parade and Staff Cars of the Third Reich by Blaine Taylor is a very fine, well-researched photo history of Mercedes-Benz cars used in the 1930s and 1940s by leaders of Nazi Germany - the best book on the subject ever printed.
Mercedes-Benz automobiles were seen as symbols of the prosperous Germany promised by the National Socialists, and Adolf Hitler and Hermann Göring were early buyers of them. They were used on the campaign trail, at Nazi Party Days and other state events, at the 1936 Winter Olympics, and Hitler toured the battlefield in Poland in a Mercedes-Benz car while the fighting was still going on.
