This is the First American edition of the book My First Ten Years with the Leica by Dr. Paul Wolff. The original title was Meine erfahrungen mit der leica and it was translated from German by H. W. Zwieler.
This 9-1/2 x 11 inch, 262 page, hard cover book was published by B. Westermann Co., Inc. of New York but printed in Germany IN ENGLISH, probably not earlier than 1935 or 1936 (it is undated). Not only is the book a superb tour de force of civilian life in Germany during the Hitler period, it also includes photos of sailors, Nazi NSKK motorcyclists and bicyclists, aviators, airplanes, Zeppelins and the German idustrial base.
This book chronicles a 10 year survey of Wolff's experiments with Leica cameras - 192 fine screen halftones and 11 reproductions in rotogravure, the first sucessful attempt to make fine halftones of considerable size directly from small negatives, technical settings for each photograph, and sections include Landscape, People, Travel, Mountains, Workplace, Sports and Pictorial Reporting, Animals and Plants, etc.
