Offered for sale on this USMBOOKS web page is the June 1941 example of the best Third Reich men's fashion magazine Das Herrenjournal, as published by Freiherr von Eelking in Hannover, Germany. The big 9-3/4 x 12-3/4 inch, heavily illustrated 32-page magazine originally sold for one Reichsmark. It was the German equivalent of Esquire magazine with articles of interest to men with an interest in women.
This Nazi magazine contains feature articles with a male slant, advertising, social news, girls and photographs. Making the news in June 1941 included German automobiles in the tropics, the huge equestrian event in Hamburg-Horn (which starts with a full-page photograph of Reichssportführer Hans Tschammer und Osten riding a beautiful white horse at the Reichssportfeld in Berlin), Wehrmacht Cavalry men in action, Bathing in Ancient and Modern Times, poodle dogs, a pin-up, etc.
Great Third Reich advertising for everything from brandy to men's shoes, cufflinks and neckties, etc. Since this is a summer issue of Das Herrenjournal it contains two tipped-in color ads for men's travel clothing and beach attire.
This sort of Third Reich consumer publication is extremely rare 70+ years after the fact. Complete and in very good condition.
