This is a very high quality Zeichenstab or HALT POLIZEI wand of the sort used by German traffic police during the Third Reich. We bought a small quantity of them about 25 years ago and have only ONE left (which we have kept for year because of its fine quality).

The disk on the end measures 175 mm (6-7/8 inches) from side to side and is made of heavy magnetic metal, not paper laminated wood like the very cheap fakes currently being sold by some of the big auction houses in Europe. The words HALT POLIZEI and the highly-detailed green and black eagle of the Nazi police are applied directly to both sides of the red and white metal disk.

A 445 mm (17-1/2 inch) oak handle tapered from about 18 mm to 28 mm (¾ to 1-1/8 inches) is held to the metal disk with two rivets. The handle is marked at the top with the name H & K Walther at an address in Berlin, the date 1941, and the word Waffen-SS. There is a hole through the bottom of the handle with a leather wrist strap attached.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: we do not guarantee this item to be of Third Reich era manufacture, but the quality is superb. This is the only one we ever had with a tapered oak handle! Perfect for re-enacting or for a museum.
