Inside, a two-page spread shows pictures of items on display in the Grosse Deutsche Kunstausstellung
(Greater German Art Exhibition) of 1939, dates and times, entrance fees and a phone number for information. The back cover shows views from the restaurant, the Bierstuberl
and the bar / dance floor below the galleries.
These brochures were sent out by the Munich Tourist Office to people who planned to visit the Hauptstadt der Bewegung
, were available at all hotel front desks and were included in magazines and mailings sent to those who might be interested in the subject of the exhibition. 99% were thrown away so they are very rare today.
1939 Greater German Art Exhibition
ran from 16 July through 15 October 1939, and included paintings and sculpture by Elk Eber, Arthur Kampf, Sepp Hilz, Fritz Klimsch, Julius Paul Junghans, etc.
This brochure is in very nice, little used condition.
