AMBER ROOM The Fate of the World’s Greatest Lost Treasure

This is a fascinating illustrated book about the famous "Amber Room" from Catherine the Great’s palace outside St. Petersburg (Leningrad).
The "Amber Room" was called the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’ and one of Russia’s most treasured artifacts.  Hidden by Soviet curators after the Wehrmacht invasion of the Soviet Union in the summer of 1941, the priceless amber panels were found by the Nazis, packed up in crates and moved to Königsberg on the Baltic Coast  (today the Russian enclave is called Kaliningrad), where the trail goes dead in 1945.

The truth about the Russian Amber Room
stolen, vanished Amber Room
AMBER ROOM The Fate of the World’s Greatest Lost Treasure was written by investigative journalists Catherine Scott-Clark and Adrian Levy, published by Walker Publishing Inc. in 2004, and printed in the United States.

This 6-¼ x 8-¾ inch 386-page hardcover example of AMBER ROOM The Fate of the World’s Greatest Lost Treasure is in very nice, little-used condition with its original color dust jacket. Tight spine, no odor

Many theories about the whereabouts of the "Amber Room" have come to the surface since 1945 but this book puts an end to the ongoing speculation.
