This 8 x 8-½ inch Third Reich folio is Volume 1 called Luftbild und Karte (Aerial Photos and Maps) and contains its 13 original glossy photographs produced from negatives each measuring 7-7/8 x 8-1/4 inches. The educational photos show villages from the air from various angles and altitudes as well as maps so Wehrmacht students could be properly instructed about what to look for.

In August 1942, the Film and Picture Department of the Reichsluftfahrtministerium (RLM or Nazi Air Ministry) in Berlin produced this folio to teach members of the Wehrmacht and students at higher education facilities to read Luftbilder or aerial photos.

1942 RLM aerial photography educational photo folio
The folio has a specific serial number or control number * 048561 and the images all bear the same serial number on the back, and each has copyright and RLM release data at the bottom.
This rare example of Schul-Kernreihe Luftbildlesen Folge 1 Luftbild und Karte is complete with all 13 images in the original folio. The photos are in excellent condition, the original 78 year old gray card stock folder shows light wear from Wehrmacht use. No odor.
