ORIGINAL THIRD REICH DDAC AUTOMOBILE CLUB

It is quite remarkable that this piece of Third Reich automotive ephemera survived!
It is a four-panel promotional flyer of Der Deutsche Automobil Club (DDAC or The German Automobile Club) with information about the services provided to its members. It is undated but according to the introductory text on the front panel, over 130,000 German car owners and drivers had already joined the DDAC by the time this brochure was printed, probably in 1938 or 1939.
Services offered to members of the AAA equivalent of Nazi Germany are clearly listed:
technical advice, legal help, accident insurance, free maps and trip planning, discounted subscription for Motorwelt (the illustrated monthly magazine published by the DDAC), a free copy of the annual DDAC-Clubbuch, access to DDAC car decals, fender flags and car badges, etc. Different membership options for car and motorcycle drivers are listed with their costs.
This four-panel DDAC membership flyer measures 4-¾ x 8-¼ inches and has the stamp of a DDAC office in the city of Leipzig on the front panel. A perforated tear-off two-panel membership application that was once a part of this brochure was used by a previous owner to join the DDAC.
