HOUSES OR CABINS
The firm of F. Bruckmann AG of München was a leader during the Third Reich of the publication of books related to architecture, and this is one of their smallest and best. It is the 7 x 9-1/2 inch, 48 page, heavily illustrated soft cover color book WOCHENENDE (Weekend) by W. von Breunig of Munich and Cologne as published in 1935.
This book does not dwell on text, but on two-page spreads which show well-explained floorplans on the left hand side and views of the same house on the right hand side. About half are in color and about half are in black & white. Below each floorplan is a rough description and price followed by a more comprehensive description giving the sizes of each room.
They show holiday houses, or what Americans would call cabins, to be built in the countryside for part-time use by their owners. The floorplans are perfectly usable - it would be easy to build a house from them.
