This is the only example of the big 10-3/4 x 16-1/2 inch, 52 page, very heavily illustrated 1940 Nazi magazine ,,Der Stoßtrupp we have ever seen. | |||||||||||||||
In addition to the 52 pages of photographs, this special magazine contains two huge, colorful fold-out maps, one of the Wehrmacht advance into Belgium and the other of the battle for France. | |||||||||||||||
This issue of ,,Der Stoßtrupp is billed as the ,,Deutsche Frontzeitung or the German Frontline Newspaper, and it was published by the Propagandakompanie (War Correspondent Detachment) of the German 4th Army under Generalfeldmarschall Von Kluge.
There is a full-page photo of Von Kluge with Adolf Hitler inside the front cover and a two-page spread showing Von Kluges Generals from Von Manstein and Guderian to Reihardt and Grauert. Splendid photographs of the surrender of French and British Forces and their equipment throughout the West. There are photos of Hitler touring the front, Panzers on the march, downed aircraft and German Landsers swimming in the English Channel. |
