This a a very nice example of a heavily illustrated Third Reich photo book called N.S.D.F.B. Stahlhelm - Geschichte, Wesen und Aufgabe des Frontsoldatenbundes or National Socialist German Frontline Soldier Association Stahlhelm - History, Being and Goals of the N.S.D.F.B. The 7 x 9-3/4 inch, 128 page hardcover book with striking silver blocking on the front cover and spine was produced by copperplate printing and published by Freiheitsverlag in Berlin in 1935.
The Stahlhelm was an association for combat veterans founded after World War I and active during the Third Reich in Germany until the organization was dissolved in November 1935 and its membership was absorbed into the NS-Reichskriegerbund. Honorary members were Generalfeldmarschall Paul von Hindenburg, Generalfeldmarschall von Mackensen, Großadmiral von Tirpitz and Hermann Göring whose photos appear in this book.
Among the 117 pictures in this book are full-page portraits of of Adolf Hitler, Hermann Göring, N.S.D.F.B. founder Franz Seldte, Viktor Lutze, Heinrich Himmler as well as many half-page photos of gatherings of Stahlhelm members all over Germany, Hitler addressing crowds of combat veterans, marching at the Nazi Party Days in Nuremberg, visiting Tannenberg Memorial, etc.
There are pictures of Stahlhelm insignia and a list of N.S.D.F.B. Stahlhelm members who died since World War I as well.
This 87 year old example of N.S.D.F.B. Stahlhelm is in very good used condition with minor wear to the corners of the cover. The silver blocking on the front cover and spine is not flaked off, and the book has a tight spine and no odor.
