We bought these prints from the estate of a United States Army Officer who served in Germany in the late 1960s and very early 1970s and it is probable that the prints were made there in an American photo lab while he was in the service.

Eleven of the thirteen glossy pictures in this lot measure 105 x 148 mm or about 4-1/8 x 5-3/4 inches, and show Italian soldiers and military equipment such as mortars, tanks, a tractor, torpedo and machine guns with ammunition. The two glossy airplane pictures feature an Italian Fiat CR-32 biplane and Junkers Ju 52, both used during the Spanish Civil War. Eight of these pictures have notes on the back in the Spanish language.

The two longer glossy pictures shown below show the Kriegsmarine heavy cruiser Deutschland (which was attacked by Republican bombers during the Spanish Civil War) and Fascist Italian volunteers of the Corpo Truppe Volontarie in Spain.
