Schlag Nach! translates as “Look It Up!” and using that name booklets and maps for civilians and military personnel were published in Nazi Germany by the Bibliographisches Institut AG in Leipzig.

This is a Schlag Nach! Kartenbeilage, the map supplement of the United States of America, Mexico and Central America. The Tornisterschrift or “backpack booklet” map was published for the Oberkommando der Wehrmacht (OKW) Department of Domestic Maps in Berlin in 1942. They are marked For use inside the Wehrmacht or Armed Forces only.

The 5-3/4 x 8-1/4 inch booklet folds out to a 16-1/2 x 23 inch color map of the United States of America, Mexico and Central America dated 1 January 1942.

Smaller map inserts show the Dutch Antilles, St. Kitts and Nevis, Martinique, Santa Lucia, Barbados and Granada. The Panama Canal is also shown separately as is Veracruz, Mexico.

The 80+ year old Nazi color map is in very good, little used condition with the name of a previous owner written on the front panel. No odor.
