Rosenberg, the chief ideologist of the Nazi Party, traces the interaction of Jews with non-Jews through the ages and highlights what he says is the re-occurring pattern of Jews being accepted by society, resulting in great wealth and influence, followed by the misuse or abuse of power triggering a backlash by non-Jews often leading to Jewish persecution. Relying heavily on Jewish sources such as the Talmud and various Jewish authors, Reichsleiter Rosenberg examines the Jewish spirit as well as the Jewish role in Freemasonry, the French revolution and communism.

This 5-3/4 x 8-5/8 inch, 158-page softcover book has extremely direct chapters about Jewish Trade and Racketeering, Jewish Religious Intolerance, the Ghetto, the Talmud, Jews in Portugal and France, Jews and Germans, the Informal Alliance with the Jews, Jews and Freemasonry, the Russian-Jewish Revolution, Jewish Energy, Jewish World Domination and its Consequences.

Die Spur des Juden im Wandel der Zeiten (The Trail of the Jews Through the Course of Time) by Alfred Rosenberg is an extremely anti-Jewish 1937 Nazi book which has anti-Jewish quotes by Dostoyevsky and Goethe on the title page. In the foreword Rosenberg states as fact that “Jewish nature is not capable of change” and is the reason for this updated publication, so that coming generations can understand the necessity to fight and not get tired of the fight for a Germany without Jewish influence.

Published in 1937 by Zentralverlag der NSDAP, Franz Eher Nachfolger, the Nazi Party Publishing House in Munich, this rare example of Die Spur des Juden im Wandel der Zeiten bears the stamp of the Kassenleiter (Treasurer) of NSDAP Ortsgruppe St. Johannis on the front flyleaf and index page. St. Johannis is a section of downtown Nürnberg, the City of Nazi Party Days in Julius Streicher’s Gau Franken. It has a library inventory number written on the spine, front cover and front flyleaf, and was “liberated” by an American working for the US Army in the building that was once the office of the Kassenleiter.

There is a great chance that if the American had not taken the book from the NSDAP St. Johannis library, it would have been destroyed by the American de-Nazification program which singled out this very sort of National Socialist literature for destruction.

The last six pages have advertising for other Rosenberg books such as Blut und Ehre and Gestaltung der Idee as well as anti-Semitic books by other German authors.

Die Spur des Juden im Wandel der Zeiten is a very rare Nazi book, and this 84 year old example from the office of Julius Streicher’s treasurer is in very nice, little-used condition, no odor.
