1937 Nazi souvenir guide to the Reichssportfeld built for the 1936 Summer Olympic Games in Berlin

This is a fine original 1937 dated Nazi souvenir, a guide to Das Reichssportfeld, the Olympic sports facilities built for the 1936 Summer Olympic Games. The title page mentions that the Reichssportfeld was built by order of Führer und Reichskanzler Adolf Hitler between May 1934 and July 1936 with plans by architect Professor Werner March.

1937 Nazi guide to the Olympic Stadium in Berlin

The 4-1/8 x 5-3/4 inch, 16-page Führer or guide is printed on cream colored art paper with dark brown colored ink and was published by the Reichssportfeld management in Berlin. It ‘guides’ the visitor through the Olympic Gate to the big stadium (65,000 seats and standing room for an additional 35,000 people), the swim stadium, athletic and other sport facilities, to the Dietrich-Eckart-Bühne, the outdoor amphitheater with 20,000 seats (today it is called the Waldbühne as Dietrich Eckart was an early Nazi).

There are fine illustrations by Herbert Leinbaum of the Olympic Gate, Olympic stadium, swim stadium, the Maifeld and Dietrich-Eckart-Bühne as well as a full-page overview / map of the Olympic sports complex. The booklet provides detailed architectural information, the cost for guided tours, nearby restaurants, public transportation and more. In very nice condition with original Third Reich staples, and no offensive odor.
