This is an excellent original half-liter stoneware beer mug made during the Third Reich in Germany for sale in the city of Kassel - die Stadt der Reichskriegertage or the City of State Veteran's Day during the massive Nazi veteran's event in June 1939. While there were smaller veteran's events in Kassel in the mid 1930s, based on the name on this mug, it is obvious that the Nazis intended to make State Veteran's Day in Kassel an annual event. However, with the onset of World War II no further Reichskriegertage were held in Kassel.
Fortunately, the 1939 Reichskriegertag was amazingly well-attended with appearances by Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler and even Adolf Hitler himself.
This Third Reich Kassel souvenir mug is in beautiful condition and measures 3-3/4 inches in diameter by 4-3/4 inches tall. It weighs about 1-1/4 pounds and is free of damage, just the way we bought it in Germany.

In addition to the inscription Kassel - die Stadt der Reichskriegertage there is a 2-3/8 inch circle on the front of the mug containing a picture of Kassel's most famous sight - the huge and beautiful Wilhelmshöhe, high above the city.
This mug would add immeasurably to any collection of Nazi Reichskrieger Bund material and would be a perfect companion piece to the rare Raumbild 3D book published on the 1939 Reichskriegertag in Kassel.
