This original Nazi 3D book Reichsparteitag der Ehre is in very good used condition with some wear to the red linen cover and gold blocking (see cover photo above). This rare 84 year old 3D book comes with the original metal viewer. but unfortunately ten of the original 100 stereo photos are missing. The missing 3D views are numbers 28, 29, 31, 70, 81, 85, 86, 87, 90 and 97. Hence, our very reasonable price for what is normally a very expensive Third Reich book.

This is a rare original Third Reich example of the Raumbild-Verlag Otto Schönstein book Reichsparteitag der Ehre or Nazi Party Day of Honor with photographs by Reichsbilderberichterstatt er der NSDAP Heinrich Hoffmann and German-language text by Robert Kröz and Rudolf Jung. The foreword is by Reichsleiter der NSDAP, Dr. Robert Ley, who headed the Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF or German Labor Front) and the book is dedicated to SA-Gruppenführer Hauptmann a.D. Wilhelm Weiß.

This 8 x 11-3/4 inch hardcover stereo photo book was published in Diessen am Ammersee in 1936 by Raumbild-Verlag. It has 64 pages of text plus 8 black card stock pages with captioned 3D photos interspersed in the text.

Raumbild Verlag (Three Dimensional Picture Publishers) books are unique in that they contain photographic stereo-view cards and a fold-up metal optical device with which the cards can be viewed.

The special red linen covers of this album are about 1/2-inch thick and are die-cut with four cavities that hold the special 3-dimensional stereo photographs (real photographs from negatives - NOT halftone prints) and the metal viewer with glass lenses that is set up to view the photographs. The 3D photos each measure 2-3/8 x 5 inches and have a full description of the subject printed on the back. When seen in the viewer each picture is incredibly three-dimensional, almost as if the scene was being viewed in real life.

The high-quality Heinrich Hoffmann stereo photographs show Adolf Hitler in his huge Mercedes-Benz reviewing marching troops through Nuremberg, the City of Nazi Party Days, Nazi Party dignitaries, Wehrmacht demonstrations, tent cities to house the Nazi Party Day visitors, anti-Jewish Frankenfuehrer Julius Streicher (shown left), Foreign Minister von Ribbentrop, Hitler Youth Leader Von Schirach, Dr. Robert Ley, Reichsleiter Alfred Rosenberg, Reichsleiter Philipp Bouhler, Reichsleiter Karl Fiehler on the Haupttribune, Hitler Youth Leaders, BdM girls, HJ trumpets with Herbert Norkus flags attached, the Appell of the SA, SS and NSKK, NSKK men on the Luitpoldhain and Korpsführer Hühnlein on horseback, high-ranking Nazis watching the SA parade, saluting the Nazi Blood Flag, rows of uniformed SS men (great SS uniforms and SS swords), Luftwaffe airplanes and a Zeppelin above the Nazi Party Day Grounds and Nazi Air Minister Goering watching them through binoculars, General Werner von Blomberg in conversation with SA-Stabchef Lutze, Dr. Joseph Goebbels, Reichsleiter Rosenberg at the Nuremberg airport, etc. Virtually every venue, every event, and each Nazi personality that attended the Reichsparteitag in Nürnberg in the late summer of 1936 is shown in these fine photographs.

The good news for any diligent and patient collector is that the ten missing photos can often be found online, and usually the cost is only in the range of $5-$10 per picture.
