There are maps of Linz, Wien, Graz, Innsbruck, Salzburg, the Grossglockner-Hochalpenstrasse, as well as tipped-in fold-out maps of the Donau, Vienna (laminated), the Vienna Woods, Steiermark, Kärnten, the Salzkammergut, Badgastein, the famous Kufstein-Kitzbühl ski area, the Brenner Pass area, the Oetztaler Alps, Vorlarlberg and others.
This is an original 4 x 6 inch, 330 page used Grieben Reiseführer or travel guidebook for the Deutsche Ostmark (former Austrian area of Germany) dated 1939. It has a special Appendix for travelers by car. This is the Second Edition with 22 maps and 32 photos and illustrations.
This Third Reich German language travel guide starts with historical information about Ostmark, literature and art and then has practical details about traffic, hotels, spas, winter and summer sport possibilities, etc. There are 2 and 3 week trip suggestions, scenic drives along the Danube, etc.
There are chapters covering Oberdonau (Hitler's "Heimatland"), Niederdonau, Vienna, Styria, Carinthia, the Salzburg Area, Tirol and Vorarlberg.
Inside the back cover is a huge 15 x 24 inch fold-out map of the whole Deutsche Ostmark area.
The special automobile section has routes and distances between major European cities, information about Reichsautobahn route expansions, scenic drives, alpine pass elevations, etc.
There are many photos including Braunau am Inn, the Melk Monastery, Karlskirche in Wien, the fortress above Salzburg, and many others. This comprehensive Nazi guidebook is fully indexed and has advertising for hotels and restaurants ranging from fancy to homey.
