The historic city of Reichenberg (now Liberec, the fifth largest city in the Czech Republic) was a wealthy textile town and the unofficial capital of ethnic Germans in Czechoslovakia in the 1920s and 1930s. It became the capital of Reichsgau Sudetenland after the September 1938 Munich Agreement and leading Sudeten German politician (Reichsstatthalter and Gauleiter) Konrad Henlein, had a home there until 1945.

Offered for sale on this USMBOOKS web page is an original Third Reich souvenir photo set of Gauhauptstadt Reichenberg and the Jeschken mountains, produced by the Aurich postcard publishing company in Niederhanichen near Reichenberg. These are actual photographs produced from negatives.

The 65 x 90 mm souvenir photos all have captions on the back and show the impressive Neo-Renaissance Rathaus or city hall on Adolf Hitler Platz during daytime and illuminated at night, the Art Nouveau city theater, the city museum, the Generali Haus on Konrad-Henlein-Platz decorated with a big swastika, an old church and other historic buildings outside the city.

The ten black & white photos are still contained in the original sturdy cardstock folder with the words Zum Andenken and Schöne Ansichten! written in the Sütterlinschrift font which Hitler replaced in 1941 with an easier to read font.

A very nice historic Third Reich souvenir, complete and in fine condition. No odor.
