As in America and other countries, anyone in service to, or the recipient of an award from the Nazi government of Germany during the Third Reich, and particularly during World War II had a portrait made for family and loved ones. All of the portraits here were obtained in Germany in odd lots of photographs. Some had been removed from albums before we bought them but most had never been in an album. Most are not snapshots and are about postcard size on heavy photographic paper. They are NOT pictures that have been mechanically reproduced on a printing press or a photocopy machine. They are REAL Third Reich era photographs in the condition shown.

P150: a lot of two original Third Reich studio portraits of a young uniformed Panzermann with Totenkopf tabs on each collar, and an Iron Cross ribbon. The emboss of a Vienna photo studio is in the lower right corner of both portraits. Very good condition. Each measures 3-1/2 x 5-3/8 inches.

KM5b: right - an original Third Reich 7 x 9-1/4 inch (177 x 232 mm) glossy photograph of a Kriegsmarine sailor wearing his 'Donald Duck' hat. Neatly written on the back with a fountain pen it says "Juli 1942".
This 78 year old Nazi portrait is in very nice condition with a small nick in the lower left corner.

P133: - right, a fine Third Reich portrait of a Gebirgsjäger with an Edelweiss badge on his Schirmmütze. The 2-¼ x 3-4 inch photo shows it was taken at Photo Traub in Salzburg, and is in very nice condition. Rare!

KM5a: left, a large 6-1/2 x 9 inch photo portrait of the same Kriegsmarine sailor as above, but smiling. This photo was printed on sturdy photo paper during the Third Reich. No writing on the back, in very good condition.

WHcf: left, a Wehrmacht enlisted man in his combat uniform with two medal ribbons on this chest. There is no information about the location where this 7 x 9-1/2 inch (177 x 238 mm) photo portrait was made on either the front or back of this Third Reich photo.
Aside from a fold in the lower left corner, this Nazi portrait is in very nice used condition.
