6 Bildkarten aus der Bayerischen Ostmark is the title printed on the original Third Reich cream colored folder that contains six gorgeous unused Nazi color postcards. The green text on the 4-1/4 x 5-7/8 inch folder shows the cards were a gift from Gauleiter Fritz Wächtler (shown left, for reference only); "greetings from the Bayerische Ostmark to its soldiers".
All six amazing images have the word Feldpostkarte printed on the address side, as well as a sentence that translates as, "The Homeland thanks its brave soldiers and greets them affectionately."
Each of the 4-1/8 x 5-3/4 inch postcards shows striking scenes from the hilly Gau Bayerische Ostmark in extreme southeastern Germany near the Czech border, as painted by artist Hans Neuner. The subjects of the cards are identified and one of them is a view of Flossenbürg, the historic castle ruins near the site of Flossenbürg concentration camp where Abwehr Chief Admiral Wilhelm Canaris was executed in April 1945.
A rare Nazi postcard set, complete and in nice unused condition. None of the postcards were ever used or mailed but please note the small stain on the protective folder (obvious in the photo on the right).
This Nazi postcard set for soldiers from Bayerische Ostmark is ** SOLD **.
