EIGHT THIRD REICH POSTAGE STAMPS CANCELED ON THE THIRD ANNIVERSARY CZECHO-SLOVAKIA BECAME PART OF HITLER'S GREATER GERMANY 1942
This is an original Third Reich era A4 size sheet of paper ( 8.27 × 11.69 inch) on which a stamp collector attached eight Czech postage stamps, all canceled on 15 March 1942, the third anniversary of Bohemia and Moravia becoming a Protectorate and part of Hitler's Grossdeutschland.
Each stamp has a 1-3/8 inch round cancelation with a swastika in the middle that says DREI JAHRE IM GROSSDEUTSCHLAND (Three Years in Greater Germany) and the date 15 March 1942.
What makes this Third Reich philatelic sheet rare is that each event cancel was applied in a different city:
the capital Prague, the big weapon manufacturing city of Brünn, famous beer producing cities Budweis and Pilsen, Iglau in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, the historical Moravian capital Olmütz, Mährisch-Ostrau and Pardubitz, the town where Czech commandos landed on 29 December 1941, at the beginning of Operation Anthropoid, designed to kill Reichsprotektor of Bohemia and Moravia, SS-General Reinhard Heydrich.
Complete and in very good used condition, was never folded. Condition exactly as shown. Absolutely original to the Third Reich period.
This is a 4-1/2 x 7-1/8 inch empty Third Reich enveope with eight of the same blue Böhmen und Mähren postage stamp on it - four on the front and four on the back. A stamp collector in Prague had all 8 of them canceled on Adolf Hitler's 52nd birthday, 20 April 1941.
Each 1-1/2 inch round red cancelation with swastika says "the Führer's Birthday" in the German and Czech language. All eight cancelations are from the same post office in Prag 1 / Praha 1.
Condition exactly as shown.
