Fachkunde für Metallflugzeugbauer (Technical Knowledge for Metal Airplane Builders) is a heavily illustrated, in-depth hardcover World War II German book authorized by Hermann Göring’s Reichsluftfahrtministerium (RLM or Nazi Aviation Ministry) for people working in the aviation industry, teachers at technical schools and military pre-flight schools. The book was written by Hans Wegener who was in charge of the Junker's aircraft factory vocational school in Dessau, home of Junkers-Werke. |

According to the Foreword, the target audience for this book were military students of Flieger-Technishe Vorschulen, schooled or unschooled metal airplane builders and workers. The practical information was especially assembled for people involved in the fast growing metal airplane industry and expanding German aviation.
This is a Second Edition of Fachkunde für Metallflugzeugbauer published by Verlag B.G. Teubner in 1942. This rare, in-depth and highly specialized hardcover World War II German book is complete and in very nice, little-used condition and has no odor.

Heavily illustrated chapters cover metal forming, sheet metal, welding, steel and cast iron, working with specialized machines, lathe work, parts assembly, airplane instruments, fuselage work, tires, tools, rivets, drilling, airplane wings, airplane engines and propellors, assembled components, types of aircraft, wind tunnels, airplane paint and spray painting techniques, spraying powdered metal, bolts and nuts, proper airplane markings, etc., etc.
The 6-1/2 x 9-1/8 inch hardcover book has 412 pages containing 1034 illustrations, many of which are very sophisticated line drawings. There are also two glossy unnumbered color pages.
