This is a fine original hard-to-find multi-color Third Reich tourist brochure of Dresden that measures 16-1/2 x 22-1/2 inches when it is unfolded. Dresden - Deutschlands wundervolle Kunst- und Musikstadt provides visitors to the city with information about historic sights, museums, guided city tours (starting on Adolf Hitler Square and the main railway station), cruises on the river Elbe, and day trips in the scenic area around Dresden (including famous porcelain city Meissen) by car, boat or bus.

The map shows the Elbe River, streets and squares, public gardens, railway stations, churches, the Semper opera house and city castle, museums, including the famous Zwinger. On the right side of the map is a numbered list of the sights, the Exhibition Center, a DDAC office, the Finance Office, Circus Sarrasani, etc. Adolf Hitler Platz is number 9 and the Hygiene-Museum (the site of the 1934 Volk und Rasse exhibition) is number 37 on the map.

Published by the Tourist Office of the City of Dresden in 1938 and printed in Dresden, this 85 year old visitor information brochure is in nice used condition. No tape, no writing, no odor.

There is a section called “What you should photograph” which details the best view points and hours of the day to take pictures of the Frauenkirche (Dom), the Zwinger Museum, opera house, City Hall, the City Palace, the Old Market and other places in downtown Dresden.
